These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Briefshelf website at briefshelf.com and the Briefshelf mobile application (together, the "Service"), provided by Eduard Mateu Molins ("Briefshelf", "we", "us" or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Briefshelf provides short-form summaries of books that you can read or listen to, along with curated learning paths. Summaries are original, condensed educational overviews of key ideas. They are not replacements for the original works, and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the authors or publishers of the books summarised.
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use the Service. By using it, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.
Some features require an account, which you can create with an email and password or through Google or Apple sign-in. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at support@briefshelf.com if you suspect unauthorised use. You can request deletion of your account at any time; see our Privacy Policy.
The Service is currently offered free of charge. If we introduce paid features or subscriptions in the future, we will update these Terms and clearly present any pricing and billing terms before you are charged.
All content in the Service — including summaries, learning paths, audio narration, text, graphics, logos, and software — is owned by Briefshelf or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the content for your own personal, non-commercial use through the Service.

If the Service lets you submit content (such as feedback or requests), you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use it to operate and improve the Service. You are responsible for the content you submit and confirm you have the right to submit it.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of content. Summaries are provided for general educational purposes and do not constitute professional, financial, legal, or medical advice.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Briefshelf will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including your statutory consumer rights.
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that could harm us or other users. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.
If you download the app from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and Briefshelf only, not with Apple, and that Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. Your use of the app must also comply with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without regard to conflict of law rules, and subject to any mandatory consumer protection rights you have in your country of residence. Disputes will be subject to the competent courts, unless applicable law grants you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
